Practically speaking, we are spending a third of our lives sleeping on a mattress. No matter what type of mattress we use, we cannot deny the fact that we expose it to body fluids like sweat. Inevitably, we leave sweat stains on it, and we are left wondering how to remove mattress sweat stains?.
While we cannot entirely prevent such thing from happening, we can definitely do something to keep our mattresses clean. Here are some methods on how to remove mattress sweat stains without spending a fortune.
Steps in cleaning mattress with sweat stains
- Strip your mattress of all its beddings. Put them in the hamper to be included in your laundry pile.
- Create a cleansing solution.
Mix the following ingredients together in a bowl or container of choice.
- 1 cup hydrogen peroxide (3%)
- 3 tablespoons baking soda
- Liquid dishwashing soap (a few drops will do)
Stir the entire mixture until the baking soda is dissolved.
- Soak the mattress with the cleansing solution.
Place the cleansing solution inside a spray bottle. Use this to spritz the affected area with the solution. Make sure it is completely soaked.
- Allow some time for the mattress to completely dry.
The easiest way that you can do this is by leaving the mattress to dry for itself. It might take some time though.
You can place a fan in front of the mattress to speed up the process a bit. If you don’t have one, you can even use your blow dryer to dry the soaked area. Just make sure that the blow dryer is set on cool setting.
There might be other methods for ridding sweat stains on your mattress. No matter the process, the important thing is that you are satisfied with the results.
Make a quick search over the internet to find out other ways to achieve the goal if you do not like this technique.
