July 6-30 Puppies are Biodegradable Art Exhibition
The artwork of two of our members, Maria and Rachel, will be featured
in the Puppies are Biodegradable art exhibition presented by
the F.U.E.L.
Collection. This art exhibition features original art created
to raise awareness of the deplorable conditions facing thousands of dogs
in PA's notorious puppy mills. Maria's piece brings attention to
our campaign against Monster Pets - visit the archived blogs
at Our Myspace Page
for more info on this campaign. Vera, a former puppy mill mommy
rescued by Cate,
another RCRR&AG
member, is the subject of Rachel's piece. We are very excited
to be part of what we hope will be an eye opening experience for
many people. Almost all animals in pet stores come from mills.
This puppy mill profit has to stop!!
Please join us at the opening reception on Friday, July 6, 2007 at 6pm. The
exhibition will be run from July 6 to July 30. The F.U.E.L
house is located at 249 Arch Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106. For
more info visit www.puppiesarebiodegradable.com.
July 1, 2007 from 10am -8pm Dogs Deserve Better "Unchain the 50" Chain Off Keeping a dog chained or penned for every minute of every
day for their entire life is still a widely accepted practice. One
of our members, Rachel, will be chaining herself in
her front yard for 10 hours on July 1, 2007 from 10am
-8pm to stand against the practice of continual chaining.
Rachel will be one of at least 74 people in 29 states and Canada who will
chain themselves to doghouses as part of Dogs Deserve Better's Chain
Off 2007 event, entitled “Unchain the 50.” Several states still
need representatives, check out www.dogsdeservebetter.org
to see if your state is represented. If not, won't you chain yourself
to speak for those that can't speak for themselves?
Visit Our Myspace Page
and www.ratchickratrescue.com
for other upcoming events, demonstrations and more. Keep an eye out
for some wonderful rat artwork to be auctioned off soon. We picket
in front of Monster Pets at 1946 S. Columbus Blvd in Philadelphia almost
every Saturday from 11:30am-1:30pm.
We also have demos coming up against animal research at Temple and the
University of Penn. We are in need of new people
to come out and demo! Power in numbers! Stand up and
be heard!
We are always looking for advocates to attend and speak for those
that can't speak for themselves.
